Our Story
We first experienced aquaponics in action during a mission trip in Nicaragua. The appreciation of building a system from the ground up and viewing its operation made a significant impact on our potential to help people. Upon research, trial and error, and years of maintenance, we decided to branch out and begin building unique systems for others.
Starting with blueberries, oregano, basil, collard greens and mint, our efforts grew from a couple of grow beds and a pond of catfish into a complex system of various beds and nursery boxes. This inspiration introduced custom indoor and outdoor units to match the natural scenery of its home.
OUR SPECIALTY
Original Design creates landscape and interior aquaponic systems. Unlike companies with streamlined model structures of industrial drums, tubs, and crates that take away from the surrounding beauty, we use durable materials in custom builds that complement its environment, giving flexibility in designs and layouts to suit your flow.
Our outdoor systems are built and tested on-site with post-production support. Indoor systems can be either shipped or delivered along with providing set-up support and information to get you started and running properly.
Our Process
Whether selecting a handmade indoor unit or a made-to-order outdoor layout, our systems are all custom built to fit your area. At Original Design, we team with you to understand your vision and budget goals. For larger projects, we consult and partner with local businesses that specialize in pond and landscape set-ups for efficient and trustworthy arrangements.
